Stage 0

Stage 0 melanoma (melanoma in situ) has not grown deeper than the top layer of the skin (the epidermis).
It is not considered a skin cancer and is sometimes called a ‘pre-cancer’. The melanoma has not spread to other areas of the body or grown into deeper layers of the skin.
