Patient Support Groups

Below we provide a list of melanoma and young persons cancer support groups in the UK that we have been made aware of, we are not partnered with any of these groups. Please note that we have not attended or evaluated these groups, and therefore cannot endorse them. Our aim is to sign post them to you, if you require further information please use the contact details provided.

If you want to let us know about your local support group, click here.

Please note organisations such as Macmillan and Maggies may run a melanoma specific support group in your local area.

Some people find comfort in reading other people’s patient stories, you can click here to read them or if you would like to share your story with us, email media@melanomafocus.org.

Facebook Support Groups:

There are also a range of private UK Facebook support groups for people with melanoma/or relatives/carers of people with melanoma. Many people find it a huge comfort to connect with others in similar situations, however, we understand that this route of support does not benefit all, as everyone’s experience is different. There is always the option to join the group and leave at a later point if your needs are not met.

Melanoma Mates: This is a private UK Facebook support group for people with melanoma or relatives/carers of people with melanoma. It has over 3,000 members and if you have a Facebook profile you can request to join.

Ocular Melanoma UK: Run a number of online support groups hosted by Facebook, these groups are open to members of Ocular Melanoma UK, and have the privacy level “closed”, which means that only members of the group can see the posts. They have three main Facebook support groups, which include Ocular Melanoma UK Patient Group, Ocular Melanoma UK Family & Friends, Ocular Melanoma UK Bereaved Support. To find out more about these groups and how to join, click here.

Mucosal Melanoma Warriors: This is a private Facebook support group for people with mucosal melanoma or loved ones of people with mucosal melanoma. It has over 1,000 members and if you have a Facebook profile you can request to join.
