Superyacht Charities Raises £20,000 for Melanoma Focus at Annual Ball in Southampton
Superyacht Charities has raised an outstanding £20,000 for Melanoma Focus at its annual charity ball. Held in Southampton, a historic hub of the UK’s maritime industry, the glittering event welcomed guests for a night of fine dining, entertainment, and fundraising. Among the distinguished guests in attendance was Mark Harries, Melanoma Focus’s Chair of Trustees, whose presence underscored the importance of the partnership and our mission to combat melanoma—the most serious form of skin cancer.
The £20,000 raised will directly support our specialist helpline, which provides vital information and support to patients and their families, as well as our awareness-raising initiatives that promote early detection and sun safety across the UK.
Melanoma rates continue to rise in the UK, making awareness and early detection more critical than ever. The Superyacht Charities Ball not only played a vital role in funding our work but has also helped us promote sun-safe behaviours and raise awareness amongst a community that spends a lot of time outdoors.
The success of the event reflected the dedication and generosity of the super yacht community, and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Superyacht Charities, event sponsors, and guests whose generosity ensured the evening’s success. Their collective efforts will help drive progress in the fight against melanoma and bring hope to those affected by the disease.
