Feel the region come alive when the Great North Run comes to town and soak up the big event experience by taking on the world’s biggest half marathon.

Starting in the heart of the city, enjoy a running route of the city and out to the coastal town of South Shields as you cross over the notorious Tyne Bridge and past Gateshead International Stadium towards that unforgettable finish line feeling and post-race fish and chips.

With the infamous high-energy entertainment zones, unbelievable crowd support with cheers of ‘Oggy, Oggy, Oggy’ echoing, and local musicians providing the soundtrack to your run, the Great North Run is a party atmosphere from start to finish.

The greatest reward in taking part is the sense of achievement as you cross the finish line, but a shiny new medal, a snazzy finishers t-shirt and a finisher’s bag filled with goodies will await you at the end of the run.

It’s a run for everyone, of all ages and abilities, whether it’s your first event or your 50th. It’s an inclusive celebration of running, with music blazing, crowds buzzing, legs pumping and fists bumping.
