Meg’s London Winter Walk Ultra Challenge

In 2016, Meg was just 16 years old when she lost her dear mum to melanoma and in 2024 one of her best friends, Liv, was diagnosed with melanoma. Fortunately, Liv received the brilliant news that she has no evidence of disease.

In memory of her mum and as a token of admiration to Liv, Meg recently completed the London Winter Walk Ultra Challenge and raised over £1,000 for Melanoma Focus. She has very kindly shared some information about why completing this challenge was so important to her:

“I lost my beautiful Mum to melanoma which turned my life completely upside. I have hit so many milestones without her by my side and learning to navigate adult life without her is extremely difficult. My Mum was so full of life and had a smile that lit up the room and I’ll forever miss her coming home and sitting watching TV together. Emmerdale was our favourite thing to watch every night without fail. My Mum never deserved what life threw at her, but she still did it all with a smile and fought for as long as she could, and I am forever proud of her for that.”
