Lucy’s Cross Continental Swim

I took on the Samsung Bosphorus Cross Continental swim in memory of my brother, Philip, and one of our squad members Roy who both sadly died from a melanoma at the end of 2022/start of 2023. I didn’t know much about melanoma until the end of 2022, so this is also me doing my part to help raise awareness. I have been amazed and so thankful for everyone’s support.”

In October 2022, Lucy’s brother, Phillip, very sadly passed away from melanoma aged 54. Following on from this in January 2023, Lucy’s squad swimmer Roy also sadly passed away from melanoma. Lucy wanted to complete a challenge in their memory to help raise vital awareness and funds.

On Sunday 20th August, Lucy completed an amazing swimming challenge- The Bosphorus Cross-Continental Swimming race. This is a 6.5km swim from Asia to Europe between the two halves of Istanbul. The race started at Kanlıca by jumping off the ferry and finished at Kuruçeşme. Not only did Lucy complete this epic challenge but she also came third in her age group- what an achievement!

Lucy raised an outstanding £2,406, we are so so grateful for her support. Thank you, Lucy, you should be so proud of your wonderful achievement.
