Lindsay and Sally’s West Highland Way Walk

In July 2023, Lindsay’s Dad, James very sadly passed away from melanoma. Lindsay wanted to honour her Dad’s memory by taking on the West Highland Way Walk with her friend Sally, a challenge that James himself completed during the early 2000’s. Lindsay and Sally walked 96 miles Milngavie to Fort William, completing the roue over 5 days and carrying their kit and camping gear all the way! They managed to raise over £3,950 for Melanoma Focus whilst completing their incredible challenge.

Lindsay shared why this challenge was so important to her:

“My Dad completed the West Highland Way in the early 2000’s. What better way to honour his memory than walking 96 miles from Milngavie to Fort William. Dad fought bravely against a very aggressive melanoma skin cancer. I hope we can do Dad proud and complete the route, while raising some money for a very important cause along the way.”

We are beyond grateful to Lindsay and Sally, a HUGE well done and thank you to them both for taking on this epic challenge and raising vital funds and awareness. Lindsay and her family will also be hosting a music event in September this year in memory of James to raise further funds for Melanoma Focus.
