In Memory of Tracey

In August last year, Jen and her two brothers John and Chris, very sadly lost their mum, Tracey to melanoma. As a family they wanted to do something special to honor Tracey’s memory. They held the “Sunflower Charity Ball” and amazingly raised over £10,000 for Melanoma Focus.

Here Jen, John and Chris very kindly explain the important meaning behind the incredible event that they organised:

As a family, we decided to organise a charity ball in memory of our lovely Mum, Tracey Beech, who we very sadly lost last August. Our Mum was diagnosed with melanoma after nearly six months of investigations and died just six weeks later, at 61 years old.

We chose to support Melanoma Focus because of the wonderful work they do, including raising awareness and contributing towards research, which was one of the key points that stood out to us.

We held our event, the “Sunflower Charity Ball,” at Woldingham Golf Club in Surrey. Our event included a raffle and auction with some fabulous prizes. We received so many generous prize donations from numerous companies and individuals, some known to us but many not. The event was attended by 100 people who bought raffle tickets and participated in our auction. Additionally, many people who did not attend the event also purchased raffle tickets.

Thanks to the support of our family, friends, colleagues, clients, and so many more people, we have been able to raise over £10,000 for this amazing charity.

The money we have raised is a testament to our lovely Mum, who we love and miss so very much. It was an absolute honor to do this in her memory, and we hope it can help other families.

We are beyond grateful to Jen, John, Chris, their family, friends and everyone who supported this brilliant event. If Jen’s fundraising story has inspired you and you would like to organise your own fundraising event, click here.
